collaboration

many big name fashion designers are moving into interior design these days. bottega veneta, valentino, vivienne westwood, they're all doing it. but rather than jumping into a solo home line, jean paul gaultier has teamed up with roche bobois to design a collection that i predict will be picked up by small boutique hotels for their lounge or pool areas...

rue

a new online magazine is here and it is fantastic. rue is the brain child of crystal gentilello and anne sage, two woman who are responsible for a couple of my favorite blogs: plush palate and the city sage. their team of writers, photographers and stylists are among the best and i am excited to see what the future months have in store!

so masculine

loving how this aviation inspired chair uses aluminum and leather to both compliment and contrast each other.

flavor of the week

this room would make me want to stay in bed all day. actually this whole house on shelter island is so amazing. the owners, Harriet Maxwell MacDonald & Andrew Corrie are also the interior designers of the space but they are most well known for their contemporary store, Ochre found in new york, london and paris.

bath time and the woes of renting

i have too many ideas for revamping bathrooms. i think it must be because i am a home renter and not an owner. i can dream all i want about what my bathroom could look like but there is no way my landlord would ever approve a total overhaul. in the meantime, i will live with the flesh colored tiles and hopefully i'll be allowed to paint the dark brown cabinets white...here are some bathroom beauties:
