a shack

normally, most people aren't psyched if they have to live in a shack, out in the woods...as all you ladies know, that was the least desirable situation in a round of MASH. however, as a little home away from home, it doesn't sound so bad...it actually sounds amazing.

this delightful shack is located in eastern oregon and only set the owners back $10,000, not too bad for a vacation home...After seeing this article in Sunset magazine, it made me think of this pacific northwest "shack" displayed in Coastal Living a few months ago.

the owner transformed a shipping container into his personal crash pad in order to use it after a day of surfing in grayland, washington. although the photos on this site don't capture the full exterior, you can see that the guts of the construction are extremely efficient. this is an awesome DIY project for all you handy types who are sitting on a bit of land.
